Sachin Tendulkar scores first 200 in ODI

Sachin Tendulkar scores first 200 runs in ODI history, is unofficially the God of Cricket

Sachin Tendulkar, has just smashed to atoms, a 13 year old record in One Day International Cricket history, and in doing so has set the bar alot higher in standards by scoring the highest ever runs by a single batsman in a game, against South Africa at Gwalior, India.

That record officially stands at 200 runs in one innings. Tendulkar opened the match along with Virendar Sehwag and managed to acquire the megalith score of a double century right till the end of India's batting, without ever even giving the opposition the slightest chance to oust him of his impending glory. Not only does Tendulkar hold the record of One Day Cricket's first double century, he also holds the higest ever scored runs in an ODI match by a single batsman, and he did it all without getting out! Just another cap in his feather? Probably not, considering how many other records the "Master Blaster" holds, we should consider Tendulkar to be a massive bird with gargantuan feathers, that would even put a Brazillion Carnivale performer to shame.

At the time of this post, India stands at 401 runs at the end of the innings(50 overs), with Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni guarding the bails. The South African team are yet to bat and most likely have either lost their morale or, possibly, but in all unlikeliness are more pumped to beat India's score during their batting innings. This is India's second win in a 3 ODI series against South Africa, thus snatching away victory overall from the boys in green.

In India and South Africa's first ODI match of the series at Jaipur on the 21st of February, India managed to beat South Africa by just one run.

The previous record holder for highest ever runs scored by a batsman in an ODI match was that of Saed Anwar who scored 192 runs against India in 1997.
