New version of News Hit goes online!
The new version of News Hit is up. You're using it now! It boasts many new features including:
NEWS HITS
News hits are small pieces of news commentary and analysis written by News Hit contributors. They are divided into seven categories and come together to form a mass blog.
COMMENTS
Comments can now be posted on articles, meaning that articles can be discussed. News hits also support reader comments.
DISCUSSION FORUM
The beta of the News Hit discussion boards is up. The forum will be trialled over the next couple of months, and depending on how successful it is, it will become a permanent feature of the site.
USER ACCOUNTS
Visitors to the site can now sign up for a News Hit account. This allows users to post comments on articles and news hits. If a user decides to become a News Hit contributor/editor, they can also use their account to post up news hits and publish articles.

REWORKED CATEGORY AND SUB-CATEGORY PAGES
The various section and (i.e. Serious Hit) and subsection (i.e. Opinion, Feature Stories) pages of News Hit have been reworked to fix aesthetics and make navigation easier.
NEWSHIT USER SURVEY
In order to make News Hit a better site we would like to hear what you think. We have made this survey to find out what people like about the site and what needs improvement. If you have a spare five minutes, please take the time to fill out our survey.
IMPROVED RSS CUSTOMISATION
Instead of a one size fits all RSS there are now customisable RSS feeds that allow users to subscribe to content by section, sub-section or contributor.
This Flash application makes it easier for new visitors to the site to find their way around and come to grips with the structure of News Hit.
